Lab Development
New laboratory projects and renovations are complex and highly integrated processes. Requirements, design, utilization, and operations maintenance are key to the successful construction and functionality of any laboratory. 3D Research has extensive experience in lab development across the United States with integration into System of Systems laboratories throughout the world. 3D is adamant about stakeholder insight and input throughout the entire lifecycle of lab development.

3D Research can provide:
Requirements
- Environmental requirements based on heat output and airflow, hardware sensitivity to external conditions, weather phenomena (e.g. earthquakes, tornadoes), etc.
- Electrical requirements based on hardware capacity and facility layout
- Floor space required to complete tasking
- Networking and infrastructure requirements are designed to accommodate the current tasking, and allow for growth in the future.
- Furniture and lighting applicable for the intended use
- Compliance with all company, local, state and federal government policies, standards, rules, and regulations are maintained throughout the requirements phase.

Design
- 3D designs facilities and infrastructure based on previously developed and baselined requirements.
- Constraints which may affect design are taken into account and integrated into the design package.
- Design packages include physical, electrical, lighting, and networking layouts as well as HVAC and floor loading specifications.
- Design reviews with customer and/or architects are completed at multiple stages throughout the design lifecycle .

Utilization
- The successful utilization of the laboratory is directly dependent on precise requirements and design
- Utilization includes the installation, configuration, and verification of the infrastructure, geographically distributed networks and host applications.
- The primary goal during the utilization phase is to ensure the laboratory is prepared to serve as an efficient, effective and essential component of an integrated System of Systems

Operations and Maintenance
- Successful Operations and Maintenance (O&M)is one of the most cost-effective methods for ensuring the efficient, effective and essential component of an integrated System of Systems.
- The goal of O&M is to increase efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- These activities are related to the performance of routine, preventive, predictive, scheduled, and unscheduled actions aimed at preventing equipment failure.
